The farm stand will open in the mall's Town Square area June 14. The stand will be open all year long, moving inside to the J-Shore storefront in the colder months.

Beginning June 14, the , Bayshore Town Center and Growing Power will be working together to bring a farm stand to Bayshore Town Center.

Growing Power is a national nonprofit organization and land trust supporting people from diverse backgrounds, and the environments in which they live. Growing Power helps provide equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for people in all communities. The farm stand will also offer educational mini-workshops throughout the year.

“It’s another perfect partnership,” said Dana Emold, the JCC’s Bayshore Project Manager. “We’re very excited to be working with Growing Power and its nationally recognized CEO, Will Allen. He’s inspiring for what he’s accomplished, leading the movement on urban gardening and promoting food health for all residents.”

The farm stand will be open all year, rain or shine. During the summer months it will be outside in the Town Square, and from October through May it will be inside J-Shore, as well as during inclement weather. The stand will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. J-Shore is the JCC’s outreach storefront located near the Food Court.

Emold said with the guidance of Will Allen and the staff at Growing Power, the goal is to grow from a single vendor Farm Stand to a larger market.
