Richard Foster, Neighbor

   I am a 72-year-old retired newspaper reporter, editor and editorial writer. During my 42 years in that trade, I traveled to something like 21 foreign countries, flew an F-15 fighter jet (briefly), conducted the Chicago Civic Orchestra (at a rehearsal), was shot at (once) and interviewed more fascinating people than I can possibly recall.  Whether these and other experiences will make my blog any good I do not know; I hope, however, that they will inform my writing in such a way as to make it interesting and perhaps even insightful.
