Week Ahead: Hannukah Celebration, Holiday Concerts

Community-wide Hanukkah Celebration: On Monday, the JCC will house the annual Hannukah celebration. The doors will open from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for hundreds of children and families to play, drum, explore, learn and celebrate Hanukkah. Don’t forget to bring your new, unwrapped gift to donate to Children’s Hospital.  Dominican Christmas Concert: Dominican High School students will showcase sacred and secular Christmas songs during a band and choir concert at 7 p.m. Thursday. Week Ahead: Homecoming Festivities, Village Meetings

Whitefish Bay High School will celebrate homecoming week with a spirit concert, parade, football game and a Saturday night dance.

Whitefish Bay is full of Duke Pride this week, as the high school celebrates homecoming week with a variety of activities: Spirit Concert and Minute to Win It: The Spirit Band will light up the high school auditorium with a special effect glow-in-the-dark percussion feature, upbeat contemporary pop music, and even a special guest. The concert is at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Homecoming Parade: The parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. Friday on Marlborough Drive and Birch Avenue and will proceed south on Marlborough until reaching Lubar Field. The football team plays Homestead at 7 p.m. Friday. Homecoming Dance: The homecoming dance will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Gym of Whitefish Bay High School. This Week: Big Sewer Meeting, Bay Players Theater Production

The School Board will also meet Wednesday night, and the Bay Players production of "Boeing Boeing" debuts Friday night.

Big sewer meeting: The Village Board will host an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cumberland School regarding the village's 15-year, $105 million capital improvement plan. The majority of the plan consists of sewer system upgrades, including a stormwater retention basin at Cahill Park. The overall sewer upgrades would allow sewer pipes to convey 3.6 inches of rain in a 24-hour period, and additional street storage to manage 5.8 inches of rain in a 24-hour period.
