Tea Party groups across the state, and even some county Republican parties, don't just support one Republican candidate for US Senate.
Mark Neumann's recent endorsement by the Tea Party Express probably made it look like he is the one and only Tea Party candidate going into Tuesday's senate primary. Don't be so sure. The reason the TPE threw their lot in with Neumann was because he claims he understands what's wrong in Washington and how to fix it. “Mark Neumann is a proven fiscal conservative,” said Amy Kremer, who founded the organization that is now the the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee. “He understands Washington is the problem, not the answer… Mark will be the next senator from Wisconsin. Former congressman and U.S. Senate candidate joins the Tea Party bus on a statewide tour just days before the Republican primary election.
With just five days before the primary election, U.S. Senate candidate Mark Neumann continued his trip around Wisconsin Thursday with the Tea Party Express bus, making a stop in Waukesha County. Neumann's first stop of the day-long tour was at the Country Springs Hotel Thursday morning where, in front of a modest crowd of supporters, he outlined the three key issues he’ll address if elected to the open Senate seat. “The first thing that we need to do to restore this great nation is we need to restore the government to the principles that are in the constitution of the United States of America,” Neumann said. The Tea Party Express plans to put some of its resources and political muscle into Wisconsin in the coming days to support candidate Mark Neumann in the Republican primary for the open U.S. Senate seat. Amy Kremer, chairman of the group, which is the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, made a trip to Wisconsin Friday to formally endorse Neumann at campaign stops in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison. With a little more than a week to go until Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall election, a national tea party group on Monday released a TV ad in which the son of President Ronald Reagan invokes the memory of his father while giving his strong support to Gov. Scott Walker. Groups are raising money and lining up thousands of volunteers to review signatures in the effort to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
On Tuesday, organizers of the effort to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will submit stacks upon stacks of signed petitions to the state, a move that will set a 60-day time clock into motion as the signatures are counted and verified. Both the Republican and Democratic parties of Wisconsin have set up their own vetting and verification operations to ensure only valid signatures are counted. However, there’s a new guest joining the recall party, and they’ll be sure all their “I’s” are dotted and their “Teas” are crossed. Tea Party groups in Wisconsin and around the country have recruited nearly 10,000 volunteers from 49 states to scrutinize the signatures and verify that people who signed petitions are indeed who they say they are. During a spirited rally in a Ozaukee County park Saturday, Tea Party Express organizers implored hundreds of supporters to take the conservative movement to the polls Tuesday and support the six Republican senators being targeted in the high-profile recall elections. Under a brilliant blue sky in Thiensville Village Park, about 275 Tea Party supporters were galvanized by a half dozen speakers, patriotic music and flag waving during the hour-long event. Organization plans multiple stops throughout the state to support six Republican lawmakers targeted in the recall elections.
The Tea Party Express will be rolling through Wisconsin starting next week to support the six Republican state senators targeted in the upcoming recall elections. The group, which has organized rallies throughout the country that feature speakers such as Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Michelle Bachmann and Ann Coulter, will hold rallies from Aug. 5 through Aug. 8, the Monday before the recall elections that have thrust Wisconsin into the national spotlight. “Wisconsin has become ground zero in the fight between corrupt big-union bosses and the fiscally responsible conservatives, which are trying to usher in legislative policies that will fix their state’s budget,” the organization states on its website.
