Year in Review - #7: Frozen Yogurt Comes to Silver Spring

Former Green Bay Packers fullback William Henderson opened Sweet Frog in August. Another fro-yo business, CherryBerry, opened in November.

The seventh-most popular story was the opening of Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt at 404 E. Ahman Green Visits Sweet Frog Grand Opening

Former Green Bay Packers player William Henderson invited Green, Jerry Kramer and other former players to the grand opening of his new frozen yogurt store in Whitefish Bay.

Former Green Bay Packers player William Henderson brought in a couple of his Packers friends to visit his newest Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt store in Whitefish Bay Friday afternoon. One of the players that stopped by was former running back Ahman Green, who retired one year ago. The team's all-time leading rusher now spends his time helping out the Oak Creek High School football team as the assistant running back coach and co-owning the Green Bay Blizzards indoor football team. In a couple weeks, Green will be launching a new training facility, called D1, in Green Bay. Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt Opens on Silver Spring

Former Green Bay Packers player William Henderson launched Sweet Frog frozen yogurt Monday afternoon, offering healthy snacks, a family atmosphere and a charitable commitment to Whitefish Bay organizations.

All day long Monday, kids and young families popped their heads into Silver Spring Drive's new frozen yogurt business: "Are you open?" After months of anticipation, Sweet Frog franchise operator and former Green Bay Packers fullback William Henderson was finally able to open his doors and start serving frozen yogurt in the space previously occupied by What's Poppin' at 404 E. Silver Spring Dr. Henderson opened his first Sweet Frog franchise in Plover, near Stevens Point, about a month ago. He also plans to launch a store in Brookfield's Sendik's Town Centre in October, as well as another location in DePere. Former Packers Player Plans to Open a Frozen Yogurt Franchise

Former Packers fullback William Henderson will bring Whitefish Bay's second frozen yogurt franchise to the vacant storefront formerly occupied by What's Poppin'.

In 1996, Green Back Packers fullback William Henderson helped bring the Vince Lombardi trophy back to Wisconsin. Now he has plans to bring a frozen yogurt restaurant to Whitefish Bay. Henderson has plans to open a franchise, Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt, in the space previously occupied by What's Poppin' at 404 E. Silver Spring Dr. Previously, a pizza restaurant had received village approval to open in the space, but the prospective business owner decided not to move forward with the business. This is the second frozen yogurt restaurant planned for Whitefish Bay.
