Two Vehicles Stolen in Whitefish Bay Last Week

The police department is reminding residents to lock their doors and not leave their keys in their car after two car thefts and two auto entries last week.

Two cars were stolen last week, due to vehicle owners leaving their keys in the car. The first car was stolen in the 2000 block of Glendale Avenue, sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. The keys were left in the car. The vehicle was recovered later in the day in the 4400 block of Oakland Avenue. Another vehicle was stolen in the 4700 block of Cumberland Avenue sometime between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. The vehicle was unlocked and contained keys to the vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been recovered. Whitefish Bay Police Chief Michael Young said the police department is investigating the car thefts, but has not yet identified any suspects. Car Stolen in Whitefish Bay, Recovered in Milwaukee

Whitefish Bay also responded to three entries to vehicles last week. Golf clubs and spare change were stolen in two separate incidents.

A vehicle that was stolen from the 5500 block of Danbury Road last week was recovered by Milwaukee police Friday night at 9th Street and Burleigh Street. The vehicle, which was parked in the residents' driveway, was left unlocked with the car keys inside. The theft occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:19 p.m. on June 4. Officers recovered the vehicle in the 900 block of West Burleigh Street at 8:29 p.m. June 8. The items in vehicle were collected as evidence, and the owner of the vehicle came to the scene and drove his vehicle home. At the scene of the car theft, the suspect left a bicycle in the driveway which had been stolen earlier in the evening from an open garage in the 5100 block of North Idlewild Avenue. Teenage Boy Threatens Family After Daylight Car Break-In

The 14- to 16-year-old boy threatened a woman and her father with what is believed to be a gun after they caught him going through one of their cars parked in the driveway.

A teenage boy pulled an object believed to be a gun on a Whitefish Bay woman and her father on Friday night when they caught the boy rifling through her father's unlocked car. The suspect, believed to be between 14-16 years old and who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and possibly gloves, was found in the front seat of their mini-van parked in the driveway in the 5700 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue at 5:44 p.m. Friday. When the boy saw the woman and her father exit the home, he fled to a maroon mini-van waiting on the street. The boy then pulled out an object that the woman believed to be a black handgun and yelled at her to get back in the house.  The mini-van then fled south down Bay Ridge and west on Silver Spring …
