Several Whitefish Bay High School students wore T-shirts in support of the 15-year-old student accused of assaulting a girl in stairwell.
After learning of the sexual assault allegations made against a Whitefish Bay High School sophomore, dozens of students took to social media to defend the suspect and organize a T-shirt campaign in his defense. One Whitefish Bay student estimates about 15 students wore white T-shirts to school saying to "free" the student. Those students were sent to the principal's office, and told to cover or remove their shirt. Other students simply wore headbands, which was the student's signature fashion accessory. The students organized the T-shirt campaign on Twitter, which was buzzing about the incident on Wednesday and Thursday. "A lot of kids were talking about it," one student told Patch. A Whitefish Bay High School sophomore is accused of sexually assaulting a female student in a school stairwell after school on April 18. The 15-year-old boy is facing juvenile charges for sexual assault, but charges have not yet been issued by Milwaukee County Children's Court. According to a Whitefish Bay police report: The two students were talking in the high school link area, near the fieldhouse lobby, after athletic practice around 5:15 p.m. when the boy asked the 16-year-old girl to walk him to his locker. When they reached the bottom of a stairwell, the girl told police that he started kissing her, despite her saying "stop" and "let me go." A Whitefish Bay gynecologist has been found guilty of inappropriately touching his patients during medical appointments. Evan Saunders, 48, was found guilty of four counts of fourth degree sexual assault and four counts of disorderly conduct on Friday afternoon, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The jury found Saunders guilty of all charges brought forward by four women, who alleged Saunders touched their genitals in an inappropriate manner and made inappropriate sexual remarks, according to the newspaper. Dominican High School boys basketball coach Paul Wollersheim has resigned despite no charges being filed in what he calls "false allegations that have been a nightmare." Wollersheim, who also serves as the school's athletic director, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on May 25 and placed on administrative leave; the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office decided not to file charges earlier this week. Paul Wollersheim reportedly was with a female teacher in the high school at 1 a.m. Friday.
Less than two months after leading his team to a state championship, Dominican High School boys basketball coach Paul Wollersheim has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. No criminal charges have been filed against Wollersheim, however, FOX6 News reports that the school has placed him on administrative leave as the investigation continues. Prosecutors are considering felony charges, the TV station says. Colleen Brady, the head of the high school, told FOX6 News that Wollersheim and another employee were in the school just after 1 a.m. on Friday. I would hope the school at this point has at least made some changes in terms of access to the facility/supervision after school-day hours, in light of what's happened. Obviously you can't undo what's been done, but maybe you can at least prevent providing opportune locations for this type of activity going forward.
