How Do Whitefish Bay Schools Handle Emergencies?

Friday's elementary school shooting in Newtown, CT brings to the forefront the need for crisis readiness in schools. Whitefish Bay elementary principals worked to ensure students did not hear what happened that day.

Elementary principals in Whitefish Bay chose not to tell students about Friday’s tragic school shooting in Newtown, CT, and worked to ensure no students would hear about it accidentally. In a letter sent parents Friday afternoon, Richards Elementary Principal Mark Tenorio and Cumberland Elementary Principal Jayne Heffron wrote that they felt "it is a family decision whether to tell children news of this sort. "Additionally, we knew that students would be scared and uncertain and it is most reassuring for children to be with parents or guardians when they learn of difficult information,”"they wrote. I want to know how the public schools failed these people in Connecticut. The Progressives always blame the gun. I want to know how this killer could go through 12 years of government provided education and no one noticed he was off his rocker.
