Police say the impaired driver drove through the bend at Lake Drive and came to a stop in the middle of the road Sunday night.
A car parked across the northbound lane of Lake Drive Sunday night caught the attention of all available Whitefish Bay squads – and so did the open bottle of Colt 45 malt liquor between his legs. A witness told police the car was driving slow and struck a pedestrian sign in the 500 block of Silver Spring Drive. After stopping at a stoplight at the intersection of Lake Drive and Silver Spring, the vehicle started driving even slower, leading the witness to believe the driver had passed out behind the wheel. Instead of curving around the bend in the 900 block of Lake Drive, the vehicle continued straight through the northbound lane, where it came to a stop. When squads responded at 8:16 p.m. Sunday, the driver smelled of alcohol and had an …
