Photos: A Sunrise, a Puppy Kiss and a Cityscape

The Great Frame Up of Whitefish Bay holds a monthly photo contest. These are the winners from the past three months.

The winner of this month's The Great Frame Up's monthly photo contest is Richard Piehl, who shot a photo of a sunrise near Elison Bay. Piehl's photo received 75 Facebook likes, more than any of the 10 entries in the Facebook photo contest. The contest calls on amateur photographers to submit their favorite photos to the business, and the photo with the most 'likes' wins the contest. As a reward, the winning photo will be framed and given to the photographer. In September, Geoff Davidian's photo of a man and his dog earned 16 Facebook likes, winning more votes than the rest of the seven submitted photos. Give Your Pet a Chance to be Famous

Wisconsin Humane Society seeking photo submissions for 2012 calendar.

Entries are now being accepted for the Wisconsin Humane Society’s calendar contest, according to a press release from the society. One lucky beauty will be chosen for the highly coveted cover photo and twelve others will be selected as a "Pet of the Month," for the 2012 calendar year, according to the releasea. The first 500 photographs submitted are guaranteed to be included in the calendar, and thousands of copies of the calendar will be printed. There is a $10 nonrefundable entry fee for each photo, and all proceeds from the calendar benefit the shelter animals, the release said. Local celebrity judges will determine the top 13 photos. Winning Photo: 'Night Drive'

Patch will regularly feature the top photo from The Great Frame Up's monthly photo contest.

Each month, Whitefish Bay Patch will feature the winning photo from The Great Frame Up's monthly photo contest. The winner of the May contest is Andrew Scholz, whose shot, "Night Bridge," portrays scenes of lights on a highway bridge at night. Each month, the photo will be framed by The Great Frame Up and given to the photographer. This month, the framing studio will turn over the voting to Facebook fans, who are encouraged to "like" the photo of their choice.
