University of Michigan punter Will Hagerup was named the top punter in the Big Ten by college football media.
Whitefish Bay's own Will Hagerup has been named the top punter in the Big Ten Conference, due to his on-field performance with the Michigan Wolverines this year. Hagerup, a junior at the University of Michigan, was one of 12 players selected by college football media for the 2012 All-Big Ten Conference football team. With the designation, Hagerup was also recognized as the Big Ten's Eddleman-Fields Punter of the Year. Hagerup, a 2010 graduate of Whitefish Bay High School, punted 33 times for 1,486 yards for the Wolverines this season, averaging a conference-leading 45 yards per punt. Thirteen of Hagerup's 33 punt attempts went more than 50 yards, and three were placed inside the 20-yard line, according to MGoBlue.com.
