Lakeshore Lacrosse Players Earn Conference, State Honors

Lakeshore Ripsharks players Andrew Reidy and Anders Bjella were named First Team All State and First Team All Conference this year. They both plan to continue the sport in college.

After four years with the Lakeshore Ripsharks lacrosse team, Anders Bjella and Andrew Reidy have ended their season with two of the biggest honors a high school player can receive.   The two Whitefish Bay High School students have both been named to First Team All Conference and First Team All State teams. This is the first time two players from Lakeshore have been chosen by coaches from the conference and the state. Bjella and Reidy have tried many sports together in their years of friendship: football, speed skating and soccer, to name a few. It wasn't until Reidy's cousin who lives in Highland Park, IL turned him on to lacrosse that they found their niche. "It just got under my skin," Bjella said. "As I improved, I just couldn't get …

Jaekels Leads Lakeshore Lacrosse to 12-2 Victory over Wauwatosa

Sophomore scores four goals and seniors Anders Bjella nets five in easy victory for co-op team with players from Shorewood, Nicolet, Whitefish Bay and Port Washington.

Sophomore attack John Jaekels had something to prove in Lakeshore's 12 – 2 win over Wauwautosa on Monday in high school boys lacrosse. Coming off a one-game hiatus for aggressive play against Marquette, Jaekels quickly let his teammates know that he came to play. Lakeshore scored the first three goals before Wauwatosa got on the board. Jaekels contributed to the 6–1 halftime score by putting in two goals off assists from middies Quinten Ziegler and Anders Bjella. His third goal came shortly after the half from a charge behind the net and double clutch fake.  His fourth goal of the night was a shifty dodge between two defenders that required an off-balance shot while falling that left his teammates buzzing on the sidelines.   “Did you see …

Lakeshore Lacrosse Tops Powerhouse Marquette 8-7

The co-op Lakeshore Ripsharks includes players from all along the North Shore. Anders Bjella was the scoring hero for the game with seven of the Ripsharks' eight goals. Quinn Mooney was the winning goalie.
