Three Whitefish Bay Athletes Commit to College Athletic Programs

Grant Menard, Rashadeem Gray and Jake Taylor all committed to Division I college athletic programs Wednesday.

Three Whitefish Bay senior athletes will move on to NCAA Division I athletic programs after graduating in the spring. Grant Menard formally committed to Drake University, a Division I football team in Des Moines, IA. Menard, who was named First Team All-North Shore Conference, had a 55 percent pass completion rate this year, finding a receiver on 66 of his 121 attempts for a total of 1,100 yards, according to WisSports. In his junior year, he completed 45 of his 109 attempts for a total of 744 yards. He's also a strong runner, with 247 rushing yards this year and 98 yards his junior year. This was a signing-day article about Bay athletes going to D1 colleges, so I think the reporter is correct that these are the only three who signed their major-college letters of intent on signing day. Blue Dukes Upset Rival Homestead for First Time in 12 Years

Homecoming night was made even more exciting by a 14-7 Whitefish Bay win over Homestead, the Blue Dukes' undefeated conference rival.

For the first time in 12 years, Whitefish Bay finally got the better of its North Shore rival. In an energized Lubar Stadium, the Blue Dukes toppled the undefeated Homestead Highlanders 14-7, bringing the team one win away from its first conference title since 1993. After the game, the Blue Dukes players doused coach Jim Tietjen with Gatorade for the first time in his 36 years as coach, which says something about the charged atmosphere for the big homecoming game. An all-blue student section  was allowed to come down to the field and celebrate with players after the game. Shut Out: Blue Dukes Crush Port Washington 49-0

Rashadeem Gray led Whitefish Bay's ground game with 197 rushing yards at Lubar Stadium Friday night.

The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes trounced the Port Washington Pirates 49-0 Friday night in front of a pumped-up home crowd. Rashadeem Gray led Whitefish Bay's ground game with 197 rushing yards. The Blue Dukes dominated the rushing game overall with 375 yards to Port Washington's 80 yards. Whitefish Bay totaled 71 passing yards to Port's 12 yards. Whitefish Bay quarterback Grant Menard was six for nine with one interception. Port Washington quarterback Aidan Wojociehowski was three for 10, with one interception. Jackson Weber was Bay's top receiver, picking up three passes for a total of 28 yards.
