Uncover Hidden Gems at Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Whitefish Bay Library Used Book Sale will be held Saturday, and a bag sale will be held Sunday.

The Friends of the Whitefish Bay Library Used Book Sale will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, and a bag sale will be held Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. The sale will include used books of all kinds, framed artwork, DVDs and other kinds of media. “We have a huge variety of used books and other media for sale," Library Director Linda Pierschalla said. "Some of it is historical in nature and some items are contemporary. There is everything from children’s books, books for teens and adults, as well as music and movies for sale. Something for everyone!” Books and media sold at the sale come from public donations. The library staff goes through the donations, and if anything can be used for the library it is kept there and added to the …

Week Ahead: Used Book Sale, Last Chance to See Pumpkins

Here's a look at some of the things happening in Whitefish Bay this week.

Here's a look at some of the events on Whitefish Bay Patch's calendar this week. If we're missing something important to you, add it to the calendar.   Last day of pumpkins: Monday is the last day of The Great Pumpkin Festival in Old Schoolhouse Park. In case you missed it, here is a video from the first day of the event, a feature story about the festival's "master carver" and a story about the festival's 18-year history in Whitefish Bay. Stressed out? Gilda's Club hosts a weekly relaxation techniques workshop at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The techniques are designed to help you sleep better, increase energy and decrease tension.
