A 55-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was cited for OWI and hit-and-run after crashing into a streetlight on Henry Clay Drive.
After drinking wine at a friend's house, police say a 55-year-old Whitefish Bay woman drove into a streetlight and continued driving back to her Woodburn Street home. Police were tipped off to the hit-and-run accident on Marlborough Drive and Henry Clay Drive at 6:19 p.m. on April 2. After hitting a streetlight at that intersection, she drove onto the front lawn of a home at the northeast corner of the intersection and continued to drive east to her home on Woodburn Street. By running her license plate, police found the woman's address and met her at her house. Police found the vehicle in the driveway with damage to the front passenger side. A 26-year-old man allegedly resisted arrest after he was awoken from 45-minute nap in his vehicle on Oakland Avenue.
Whitefish Bay police used a Taser gun to subdue a 26-year-old Milwaukee man who resisted arrest on Feb. 16. A resident called the police at 11:42 p.m. after noticing a man had been sleeping inside a vehicle with the engine running and the headlights on for about 45 minutes on Oakland Avenue between Cumberland Boulevard and Hampton Road. When a Whitefish Bay officer approached the vehicle, the officer had to knock on the window several times to awake the man, who was sleeping with the seat reclined. After rolling his window halfway down, the man told police he was waiting for his friends. Upon further questioning he told police that his friends live on the east side of Milwaukee. The president and CEO of a major Milwaukee investment banking firm was arrested Thursday in Wauwatosa on suspicion of drunken driving, and during and after the stop he appeared to make a number of attempts to use his position to get out of the ticket, police reports show. John Druse Emory Jr., 41, of Whitefish Bay, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. and cited for suspicion of operating while intoxicated after callers reported him driving dangerously, having hit curbs twice and sideswiped a “yield to pedestrians” sign on West North Avenue. A disorderly drunk driving arrest and marijuana use at Klode Park also made this week's Whitefish Bay police log.
An explosive prank concerned neighbors on Berkeley Boulevard Saturday night, but thankfully no one was hurt. Police responded to the 4900 block of Berkeley Boulevard at about 10:34 p.m. Saturday night after two water bottles filled with aluminum foil and toilet cleaner exploded in two lawns. A resident called police dispatch, but police were unable to locate the subjects, who neighbors say ran eastbound through yards after the explosions were heard. Police respond to two other reports of drunken driving and a retail theft at Sendik's last week.
A 31-year-old Greenfield woman was taken into custody after driving into two parked cars and attempting to flee last week. All police squads responded to the reported accident at Silver Spring Drive and Diversey Boulevard at 5:23 a.m on Oct. 3. The woman failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Columbia St. Mary’s hospital for a blood draw. She was cited with operating while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, imprudent speed, operating without insurance and failure to wear a seatbelt. In other police news:

A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was driving at nearly double the speed limit when he was pulled over for drunken driving early Friday morning. The man was stopped for going 58 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 4900 block of North Lake Drive at 1:17 a.m. Friday. He registered a BAC of 0.10 and was cited with his first drunken driving offense. The next day, a 22-year-old Cedarburg man was taken into custody for his second drunken driving offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was pulled over by officers at 2:49 a.m. Saturday in the 6200 block of North Lake Dr. with a BAC of 0.13. The latest reports from the Whitefish Bay Police Department
Four more unlocked cars were entered last week in three separate incidents, making a total of 32 similar crimes of opportunity over a three-month period. Two unlocked vehicles were entered in the 4800 block of North Malborough Drive in the early morning hours of May 23. No items of value were reported missing. An XM satellite radio was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 5500 block of North Diversey Boulevard sometime between 5 p.m. May 21 and 3 p.m. May 22. A laptop was stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4900 block of North Marlborough Drive sometime between May 22 and May 23. In other police news:

Two 14-year-old Glendale girls were cited for theft and loitering on school grounds after admitting to stealing nearly $400 in property from the Whitefish Bay High School girls locker room after school hours Tuesday. The two girls, students at Glen Hills Middle School in Glendale, admitted to stealing $80 in clothing from one locker, $45 in clothes from another locker, $42 in clothes from another locker and in another locker, a backpack, clothing and cash totaling $210.
