Another Burglar Strikes While Homeowner Sleeps
Burglaries have been an increasing problem in Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point and the east side of Milwaukee.
The second burglary of the past month was reported last week in Whitefish Bay, this time on Ardmore Avenue. Burglaries have been increasing across the North Shore area recently, with nine burglaries in two weeks in Shorewood; one Whitefish Bay burglary on Cramer Street on Sept. 24; two in Fox Point and an increasing number on Milwaukee's East Side. The burglary in the 4800 block of Ardmore Avenue reportedly occurred overnight between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Oct. 3. The burglars took a laptop, an iPod Nano and a Memorex microsystem for an iPod. The intruder appeared to enter the house by cutting a window screen and entering through an inner window, which was unlocked and opened about an inch to air out the house, according to the police report. …
