Crawford Eliminated in Village Trustee Primary

The former Milwaukee County judge received the least votes in the five-way village trustee election. Now, four candidates will compete for two seats in the general election on April 2.

Robert Crawford has been knocked out of the five-way village trustee race, receiving the least votes in Tuesday's primary election. Crawford, a retired attorney and Milwaukee County judge, has chastised the Village Board in recent years for not being more aggressive with its sewer improvement plans.  Whitefish Bay traditionally enjoys high turnout numbers, but even with a village trustee primary on the ballot, turnout only measured 21 percent. Four candidates remain in the race for two available trustee seats in the April 2 election. Four-year incumbent Trustee Jay Miller received the most votes (889); Carl Fuda received 812 votes; Kevin McMahon received 444 votes and Kenneth Wysocky received 422 votes. Crawford received 295 votes. …

1 Incumbent In, 1 Out for April 2 Village Board Election

Trustee Jay Miller will run for re-election, while six-year incumbent Jim Roemer has decided to step down.

Trustee Jim Roemer's decision to step down from the Village Board was not an easy one. Roemer has served on the board for six years, which is longer than any other trustee on the board. A managing director working in commercial real estate at The PrivateBank, Roemer's service to the village began nearly 11 years ago when he joined the Community Development Authority. He will continue to carry out his second term until a new trustee is elected on April 2. Jay Miller, the other trustee whose term is up, will seek re-election to his second full term. Nomination papers are available at Village Hall and must be filed by Jan. 2. If more than two candidates file papers to run, they will compete for the two at-large seats available in April. …
