Evelyn E. Hasselkus (Nee Marggraff) entered Eternal Life on January 5, 2013 at the age of 94. Wife of the late Herbert Hasselkus. Evelyn was raised in Whitefish Bay and spent most of her life living on Milwaukee’s East Side. She is survived by a niece, a nephew and friends. A service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9 at Alexian Village of Milwaukee in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 9301 North 76th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53223. Interment will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park. Memorials in Evelyn’s name may be made to Alexian Village Employee Appreciation Fund. (Obituary provided courtesy of Feerick Funeral Home)

Paul M. Barnes passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2012, at age 98. Resident of Alexian Village. Former resident of Mequon and former longtime resident of Whitefish Bay. Survived by his loving wife Vera, his children Andrew, Margaret and James, step-daughters Gigi and Marisa, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his late wife Elisabeth (nee McClenahan) Barnes and son John Robert. Paul graduated from Monmouth College in Illinois and the University of Chicago Law School. Marion K. Clark (née Kuebler) entered Eternal Life on November 25, 2012 at the age of 88. Resident of Alexian Village, formerly of Whitefish Bay and Mequon. Born on September 23, 1924 in Wausau, WI. Alicia Urban will be remembered for her volunteerism and energetic and magical personality that touched so many with kindness, generosity, warmth, love and fun. She passed away Sunday at the age of 43. Urban was devoted to her family, her friends, her community, and her business Elements East. She volunteered actively with Friends of Atwater Beach, Pearls for Teen Girls, Public Allies and Holton Youth Center. Dr. John Dooley died peacefully on Sunday, one week after the funeral service of his beloved wife, Carol. He left this world surrounded by his children and their spouses. John was a resident of St. John’s on the Lake in Milwaukee for the last 10 years of his life; before that he lived in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay. He was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral. John was born on October 12, 1926, the youngest of five children born to Edward and Ruth Dooley. He attended Marquette High School before joining the Navy in 1944 where he served as a corpsman. Chuck Orvold lost his battle with cancer Monday, but his memory lives on with Whitefish Bay students, parents and colleagues who were touched by his sense of humor and his passion for education.
A huge void was left at Whitefish Bay Middle School this week, after Associate Principal Chuck Orvold passed away Monday due to complications associated with pancreatic cancer. Orvold began his career at Whitefish Bay Middle School 22 years ago as the school's associate principal, a position he held up until he passed away. He was 54 years old. Remembered for his sense of humor, his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and his tough-but-fair disciplinarian role, Orvold was well-respected by students. He was often greeted in the lunchroom or at football games by kids chanting "O" and forming the letter "O" over their heads. A colleague of 22 years, sixth grade social studies teacher Anne Liccione said Orvold was "universally loved" by the student …
