Obituary: Edward Leo Sweeney

Sweeney, 90, worked 35 years for Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. and raised funds for the construction of Dominican High School.

Blessed husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and loyal friend. Edward Leo Sweeney was born August 18, 1922 in Reedsburg, WI and born to eternal life on May 8, 2013. Edward was the youngest of six children born to the late Edward and Ida (nee Byrne) Sweeney. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he worked for the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co., retiring as Director of City Sales after a 35 year career. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Marion Sweeney (nee Graessle) of Glendale; daughter Mary Ellen of Highland Park, ILL. and sons James (Rita) and Patrick (Candace) both of Milwaukee. Obituary: Frederick D. Niedermeyer

A longtime resident of Whitefish Bay, Niedermeyer served in the Navy and was dedicated to his career at WISN TV.

Frederick D. Niedermeyer, a longtime Whitefish Bay resident, died peacefully on April 16 at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 63 years of Annette C. Niedermeyer. Loving father of Scott (Susan) Niedermeyer and Nancy (Carl) Trimble. Devoted grandfather of Ryan Niedermeyer, Kyle (Shannon) Trimble, Tyler (fiancée Becky) Trimble and Brittany Trimble. Devoted great- grandfather of Conner Trimble. Fred was proud to have served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was extremely dedicated to his career with WISN TV (Channel 12) for 35 years as an account executive. Visitation was held at the Feerick Funeral Home on April 22. Obituary: Joan M. Plant

The Whitefish Bay resident passed away Thursday at the age of 61.

Joan M. Plant (nee Kleczka) entered into Eternal Life on March 28, 2013 at the age of 61. Plant was a resident of Whitefish Bay, and a beloved daughter of Richard S. and Shirley A. (nee Srnec) Kleczka. Loving sister of Janet A. Lorenz. Dear aunt of Brandon (Valerie) Lorenz and great-aunt of James Lorenz. Further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and all the many children she taught throughout her life. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 3, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Feerick Funeral Home, followed by a service honoring Joan’s life at 6:30 PM. Obituary: Jane Agnes Paquette

A former Whitefish Bay resident, Paquette was a mother of four and was involved at St. Monica Parish.

A long-time Fox Point resident who formerly lived in Whitefish Bay, Paquette entered Eternal Life on March 21, 2013 at Elizabeth Residence in Bayside. She was 92; proceeded in death by husband Louis James Paquette on Feb. 5, 2000. Born in International Falls, Minnesota, raised in Fort Francis Ontario Canada, Jane Paquette (nee Tiefenbacher) enjoyed throughout her high school years the outdoor life of the Rainey Lake area on her parents’ summer island, and the snowy fun of skating and curling on the frozen lake in town. She traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend the St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. Rooney worked as a commercial artist, was a Girl Scout leader and worked to save the elm trees of Whitefish Bay.

Marjorie Rooney (nee Williams) passed away, March 19, 2013. Born, August 12, 1922, Rooney was preceded in death by her parents, Constance (nee Miller) Williams and Robert N. Williams; and her brother, Franklin (Buzz) C. Williams. Survived by her brother, Robert (Susan) N. Williams; sister-in-law, Helen Williams; and her children, Steve (Andrea) Rooney, Kathleen (Thomas) Mannlein, David Rooney, and Laura Rooney; her grandson, Alex Parsons; and other dear relatives and friends. Marilyn F. Hackbarth (nee Koehnen) died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2013 at the age of 83. Longtime resident of Whitefish Bay.
