Rock Out on Silver Spring This Weekend

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation has lined up three fun bands for the village's big street festival on Saturday.

Here's something to look forward this week: Whitefish Bay's big street festival will come to Whitefish Bay Saturday, and three great bands are lined up to perform.

Sounds of Summer will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Silver Spring and Lake Drive, in front of Sendik's. The first band, playing at 5:30 p.m., is Mike Mangione & The UnionI'm Not A Pilot will play at 6:50 p.m. Ska band Something To Do will play the top slot at 8:30 p.m.

Beer will be provided by Lakefront Brewery, and Sendik's will provide the food.

The Whitefish Bay Farmers Market will take place again from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday at Silver Spring Drive and Berkeley Boulevard. The market features fresh and organic produce from Wisconsin farmers, meats, bread, flowers, honey, and more.

Mood Swing Orchestra will round out Shorewood's free Summer Sounds concert series from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Hubbard Park. Food and beverages are available at Hubbard Park Lodge.

In Shorewood, a new Surf @Water event will host a film festival, surfing lessons and other activities aimed at introducing surf culture and spreading awareness about environmental issues in Lake Michigan.

Lebowski Fest returns to Milwaukee this weekend. On Friday night there will be a movie screening and music from Thao & The Get Down Stay Down. A bowling party will be held Saturday in West Allis.
