First Ice Cream Social is Wednesday

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation's first ice cream social of the year will be held Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schoolhouse Park.

The family-friendly event features cones and bowls of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, along with your favorite toppings. Root beer floats are also available.

The Whitefish Bay Community Band will play songs to entertain the crowd and maybe even encourage you to dance.

Volunteers sought for Fourth of July

The Civic Foundation is also seeking 110 volunteers to make the Fourth of July a success.

Adults and kids 12 and older are encouraged to help run the kids activity area and the face painting tent at Klode Park. Shifts are one hour and start at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity for students to pick up some community service hours for National Honor Society, church confirmation or any other organization.

Here is a list of available shifts. If you have any questions, please email Suzanne LaFleur at Volunteer@wfbcivicfoundation.org.
