UPAF Cyclists Will Pass Through Whitefish Bay

Although Lake Drive will be open to bicyclists on Sunday, southbound vehicle traffic will continue to be directed down Bartlett Avenue until June 7.

Lake Drive is still under construction, but that won't stop the UPAF Ride for the Arts from coasting through the North Shore Sunday.

The annual bicycle ride raises money for arts through the United Performing Arts Fund. Six different races will be held, but only the 50-mile and 75-mile routes run through Whitefish Bay. Click the links above to see the race route.

Despite the construction work, cyclists will be able to bike down Lake Drive, with the use of traffic controllers - thanks to some coordination between the village, the construction crews and the race organizers.

Although southbound Lake Drive will be open to bicyclists, cars traveling south down Lake Drive will continue to be directed down Bartlett Avenue for another week, until June 7. The construction delay is due to the unseasonably wet spring we have been having.
