Red Hot Blue Dukes Start Season 9-1

The Blue Dukes have been red hot to start the season, posting just one blemish on their season record through 10 games. 

Led by Andrew James (.778 batting average), Johnny Markwiese (14 runs batted in), and a pitching staff with 62 strikeouts, Whitefish Bay’s baseball team has been running through the competition, going 9-1 overall and sitting atop the North Shore Conference at 4-1, according to Wissports.net

Over its 10 games, the Blue Dukes have outscored their opponents 97-36. Capping off five games in four days, the Blue Dukes bested Shorewood 7-3 on Saturday. Whitefish Bay then dropped its first game of the season to West Bend East on Monday, but bounced back against tough North Shore Conference rival Homestead on Tuesday, defeating them 10-4. 

This week, the Blue Dukes were named team of the week and ranked fifth among Milwaukee area team, in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Preps Plus’ baseball rankings. 

Through 10 games last season, the Blue Dukes were 7-3, and finished the season 15-16. 

Whitefish Bay will host 3-3 Cedarburg on Friday at Henry Aaron Field. The game starts at 7 p.m.
