Retired Sluggers Will Hold Baseball Clinic for Kids

The fourth annual Greg Loyda MLB Alumni Baseball Clinic will be held at Craig Counsell Park on Saturday.

Young baseball players between the ages of 6 and 16 will have the opportunity to learn from retired pro baseball players this weekend.

The fourth annual Greg Loyda MLB Alumni Baseball Clinic will be held at Craig Counsell Park on Saturday. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon and feature training stations such as pitching, batting and catching. Children will also receive free T-shirts and lunch and enjoy an autograph session with the players.

In-person registration will begin that morning at 8:30 a.m. Click here to register online, as space is limited to the first 250 kids.  

The free clinic will feature former Major League Baseball players as instructors, including Greg Vaughn, Bert Campaneris, Mike Remmingler and Bill Campbell.  The clinic is being held in honor of Greg Loyda, who died in March 2010.

The event is held in memory of Loyda, a Whitefish Bay Little League coach who passed away in 2010. The event is sponsored by Loyda's former employer, The Hanover Insurance Group, in partnership with TRICOR Insurance, Ansay & Associates and The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
