Little Leaguers Meet Hometown Slugger at Special Chinooks Game

The Lakeshore Chinooks hosted Whitefish Bay Little League Night, giving kids the opportunity to meet Charlie Markson, a Whitefish Bay alum playing for the Lakeshore Chinooks this summer.

Whitefish Bay Little League brought over 400 people to the Lakeshore Chinooks game for Whitefish Bay Little League Night with Charlie Markson Wednesday night.Β

Markson, who played for Whitefish Bay Little League and later for Whitefish Bay High School, currently plays for Notre Dame and will be playing for the recently-formed Chinooks team this summer. Markson signed autographs for all of the kids after the game, and little league officials also presented Markson with a plaque.

The Chinooks lost 11-4 to the Battle Creek Bombers Wednesday night, putting the team in sixth place of the Northwoods League's south division. Markson went 1-5 with an RBI. The two teams will face off again Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. at the new Kapco Park in Mequon.
