The Lakeshore Lacrosse co-op team beat University School 12-5 under the lights at Shorewood High School Friday night.
The Lakeshore team brings in players from schools throughout the North Shore, including Whitefish Bay, Shorewood, Nicolet and Port Washington.
Whitefish Bay senior Collin Braam had his second consecutive five-goal game after picking up five against Kenosha earlier in the week. Anders Bjella put in three goals for Lakeshore and junior Will Tucker had sure hands on two give-and-go tallies.
The game was 5-all at halftime before Lakeshore took control. USM finished with a season-high nine penalties.
USM coach Cameron Feist said, “The major highlight from the game was senior James Shovers, who was new to the sport at the beginning of the season who did an outstanding job starting as our third long pole, despite the fact that he only had one practice in that position all season long.”
Goalies Quinn Mooney and Dan Wilson split time in the net for Lakeshore. Dakota Kwasny and Harrison Farley also scored for Lakeshore.
USM captain Alex Read scored three goals in the game. Jeff Walters and Duke Butler each scored one goal for the Wildcats. David Mai made five saves in the USM net.
USM’s record is now 4-3. The Wildcats hopes to bounce back when they host Kenosha United in a game scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
