Girls Volleyball Team Advances in Regionals

With a win over Shorewood last night, Blue Dukes will face off against St. Thomas More in the final round of regionals Saturday.

The Whitefish Bay girls volleyball team will advance to the final round of regionals after a win over the Shorewood Greyhounds Thursday night.

The Blue Dukes team beat Shorewood 26-24, 31-29, 23-25, 16-25, 15-13 in the second round of the WIAA regionals. The Blue Dukes won the first two games, but the Greyhounds battled back to force a game 5. The Blue Dukes prevailed 15-13 in Game 5.

The match marked the Greyhounds’ since 2008.

The Blue Dukes will face off against non-conference team St. Thomas More Cavaliers at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Blue Dukes are 10-13 overall, with a conference record of 1-7. The St. Thomas More Cavaliers have a record of 8-14 overall, with a conference record of 3-4. Admission is $4.
