Deadlift 605 Pounds? New York Jets' Nick Bellore Did. Six Times.

The second-year NFL player from Whitefish Bay is preparing for training camp with the Jets beginning July 26.

He’s now an NFL “veteran,” preparing for his second training camp with the New York Jets. And Whitefish Bay native Nick Bellore is preparing well, having won the defensive weightlifting award in the offseason.

NJ.com reports that the 6-foot-1, 250-pound linebacker deadlifted 605 pounds for six repetitions, saying it was “probably the best I’ve ever done.” Bellore also was encouraged by the team’s attendance at offseason training, coming off a tumultuous season for the Jets that saw them finish 8-8 and fail to make the playoffs.

Training camp begins officially on July 26 in Cortland, NY. Bellore, an inside linebacker, made 19 tackles as a rookie after . The Jets don’t play the Packers this season but make two trips to the Midwest — in Week 1 at Cincinnati and Week 11 at St. Louis.
