Blue Dukes Tangle With Brown Deer in Baseball Tournament

Winner meets Nicolet/Port Washington victor on Friday morning.

Following a streaky regular season, the Whitefish Bay baseball team heads into the WIAA tournament beginning Tuesday riding the positive trends.

The Blue Dukes (17-13) meet Brown Deer (19-11) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cahill Park. The winner of the game takes on the winner of No. 1 seed Nicolet and No. 8 seed Port Washington at 10 a.m. Friday.

According to WisSports.net, Whitefish Bay opened the season with seven consecutive victories, then suffered separate losing streaks of five and four games in the middle of the season. The close has been more positive, as the Blue Dukes won five in a row in early July, lost a pair, then won their last three games heading into the tournament.
