Andrew Lee, the team's new head coach, said this year's team is stacked with talented juniors and seniors, but also has two sophomores on varsity. He said the team is prepared for a big year, as he has seen them improve gradually over the last eight games.

"I think the expectations are pretty high, and the players have some high expectations as well," Lee said. "I've been able to push them pretty hard, and they've responded well to it."

In Thursday night's game, the Raiders and Blue Dukes battled over possession for more than 50 minutes until Blue Dukes senior Joey Davey scored the first goal of the night. He created an opportunity for the second goal of the night after he was dragged down in the penalty area. Jack Comiskey was successful in booting in the penalty kick.

Goalie Alex Witteman, a junior, recorded his second consecutive clean sheet, his third of the season.

The Blue Dukes return to action this weekend when they travel down to Libertyville on Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:15 p.m.
