A Blue Duke Made Good: Charlie Markson Key for Fighting Irish Baseball

Junior centerfielder played an important role in a recent non-conference win over Toledo and is a regular member of the starting lineup for Notre Dame.

Former Whitefish Bay High School baseball player Charlie Markson is one of the key performers this season for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team.

A week ago Markson helped Notre Dame defeat Toledo 7-3 by driving in two runs. He drove in the Irish’s first run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and added a two-out RBI single in the fourth. Markson added another base hit later and is batting .267 for the Irish this season.

Markson followed up that effort by going 2 for 4 with two RBI in a doubleheader against Big East opponent Seton Hall. Notre Dame lost both games in 11 innings.
