Blue Dukes Girls Win NSC Track Meet

Team dominates distance events; boys strong in the sprints.

Kenzie Vicker and Emma-Lisa Murphy finished first and second, respectively, in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs as Whitefish Bay won the North Shore Conference girls track meet on Tuesday at Cedarburg.

The Blue Dukes also received a 1-2 finish in the pole vault from Nawoo Kim and and Sofie Yang in scoring 146.5 points, well ahead of Nicolet (96.5 points).

Though the boys finished seventh overall, they dominated the spring events. James Stecker won the 100, Brandon Threats captured the 200 and the Blue Dukes' foursome of Stecker, Threats, Rashadeem Gray and Davonte Johnson blazed to victory in the 400 relay. Whitefish Bay crossed the line first in the 800 relay as well but was disqualified for passing the baton outside the allowed zone.

Both Whitefish Bay teams participate in the Grafton Regional on Monday.
