Blue Dukes, Dominican Girls Advance to Sectionals

The Blue Dukes will play Pius XI on Thursday, and Dominican will play the Prairie School on Wednesday night.

Both the Whitefish Bay and Dominican girls basketball teams are headed to sectionals this week.

The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes (16-8) beat Wauwatosa West (10-14) in a 27-21 regional semifinal on Friday. The following night, the Bay girls beat Wisconsin Lutheran (20-4) with a score of 53-30 in a regional finals game to advance to sectionals.

The Lady Blue Dukes are now preparing to play Pius XI (21-3) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Waukesha North High School. If they beat Pius, the Bay girls will advance to the sectional finals on Saturday.

Dominican, meanwhile, beat Kenosha St. Joseph (8-15) with a score of 51-39 on Friday. On Saturday, the Lady Knights (17-7) beat Shoreland Lutheran (16-8) with a score of 62-49.

Now, Dominican will advance to sectionals to play The Prairie School at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kenosha Bradford.
