Bay's Jake Taylor Debuts in Pro Soccer Match — Before Graduating

The soccer standout was called up for an MLS Reserve Team match on Friday in North Carolina.

“How was your weekend?”

“Oh, not bad. I just played a professional soccer match in North Carolina, then graduated high school in Wisconsin.”

Such was 48 hours in the life of Jake Taylor of Whitefish Bay, according to a post on WisconsinSoccerCentral.com

Taylor played all 90 minutes for the Chicago Fire reserves in a match against the Charlotte Eagles of USL Pro on Friday night. USL Pro is the third division of professional soccer in the United States; the Fire are a member of Major League Soccer and their reserve team plays against some USL Pro teams.

After the Fire reserves lost 2-1, Taylor returned to Wisconsin and graduated Sunday afternoon from Whitefish Bay High School.

Taylor was named the state player of the year in high school boys soccer, and will attend Marquette. NCAA rules allow him to play with an MLS reserve team and still participate in college, according to Wisconsin Soccer Central.
