7th Grade Girls Compete in State Basketball Tourney

The Whitefish Bay 7th grade girls basketball team competed with other top teams from across the state at the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament on April 13 and 14.

This tournament, which was organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, brought together 84 of the top community-based 7th grade girls basketball teams from across the state on April 13 and 14.

The Whitefish Bay 7th grade girls team played in Division 2, finishing in 16th place. State champions were crowned in four divisions: Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4/5, based on the enrollment of the high school into which each team feeds.

The Whitefish Bay team is coached by Stacy Kundinger; Assistant Coach:  Molly O'Brien.  The All-Tournament team for Division 2 consisted of:  Olivia Bogan (Hortonville), Halie Campion (Milton), Kylie Campion (Milton), Brehna Evans (West De Dere), Maryn Ferron (Beaver Dam), Shay Frederick (Hortonville), Emma Gamoke (Onalaska), Emily Higgins (Pulaski), Kathleen Hirsch (St. Marys/St. Dominics), Jenna Krause (Seymour), Ashley Laskowski (Notre Dame), Kaylee Miller (Beaver Dam), Hailey Oskey (Seymour) and Alicia Putney (New Berlin Eisenhower).
