Woodard Seeks Re-election to School Board

Woodard will join Kathy Rogers and Anne Berleman Kearney on the ballot this year. Incumbent Gerry Steele has not filed papers for re-election yet.

Pam Woodard announced today that she will run for re-election to the Whitefish Bay School Board in the April election.

Woodard filed her papers to run for re-election Wednesday, placing her on the ballot with . Incumbent board member Gerry Steele has not yet filed papers to run for re-election.

In a written statement, Woodard said her experience is an asset to the School Board.

“Whitefish Bay Schools are in a very strong position both educationally and financially,” she stated. “However, we are at a critical and dynamic juncture in public education in our state. My deep understanding of education, Whitefish Bay schools, and our community will be an asset to the board and the district as we navigate these challenges and opportunities.”

Woodard recently won election to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Joe Martinelli. Previously, she had served on the board for 15 years, including five years as board president.

“I believe my board service has been one of good stewardship of our schools,” Woodard said. “Our schools are an important asset to all members of our community. We must honor our traditions while continuing to move forward in how we educate students. Our schools must respond to the needs of all students to prepare them for their future.”

Woodard and her husband, Blane, are longtime residents of Whitefish Bay and the parents of three adult children who attended Whitefish Bay public schools. Woodard serves as chief facilitator for the Wisconsin Character Education Partnership and also as treasurer of Artists Working in Education, Inc., a non-profit organization providing art experiences for disadvantaged students in Milwaukee.
