Superintendent Will Speak About the "State of the District"

Event will give public a chance to hear district's vision, as well as another chance to tour new facilities.

You could sense the excitement as you walked through the hallways of Whitefish Bay High School on the first day of classes this year. More than 900 students entered a pristine facility following the completion of the referendum-related construction.

In August, the high school opened their doors to the community as a thank you for the support shown through the November 3, 2009 referendum. A new collegiate-like music wing, science rooms and Project Lead the Way engineering classroom are only the tip of the iceberg among the renovations and remodeling projects the district underwent in the past one and one half years. Although more than 300 people toured the newly renovated high school facility during the August 21 Showcase event, District Administrator Mary Gavigan is providing another opportunity for the public to tour the facility.

On Oct. 11, the District will host a “State of the District” event which will, according to Gavigan, serve multiple purposes.

“We want to share with the community the vision of the district, our successes, challenges and opportunities that are on the horizon,” said Gavigan.

“Not only do we want to provide yet another opportunity to thank the community for our beautiful, newly renovated buildings, but we want to provide members of the public another opportunity to tour our facilities as well,” Gavigan said.
