Are you curious what's new in Whitefish Bay schools? Do you wonder how Whitefish Bay School District is responding to changes in public education?
Whitefish Bay Superintendent Mary Gavigan is inviting the Whitefish Bay community to attend a special State of the District address next week to talk about these topics. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the Whitefish Bay High School rotunda, which is right inside the front doors of the building.
Gavigan said she will summarize Whitefish Bay student performance, the district's focus plan and the district's financial outlook. Gavigan also said she will talk about the changes taking place in the landscape of public education, what those changes mean for Whitefish Bay schools and what changes can be anticipated in the future.
Gavigan also said she will also highlight recent points of pride for the district, and reaffirm the district's commitment to sustain and provide an excellent education.
After the event, Gavigan will present a similar district overview to PTO groups at each of the district's four schools.
The State of the District event was held for the first time last year. The idea to hold an annual overview presentation for the community was conceived during the district's communications plan last year.
