The Sound of Music tells the story of Maria, a postulant from Nonnberg Abbey who takes on the role as governess in the home of Captain von Trapp and his seven children. Maria, through her zest of life and love of music, brings joy back into this Austrian family. With the help of her wise and caring sisters from Nonnberg Abbey, Maria, the Captain, and his seven children are able to unite as a family, stand up against the rise of Nazism, and start a new life.
