Meet 'The Basement Bunch' on Blue Dukes' Offensive Line

The five guys who block for Whitefish Bay's high-scoring offense aren't used to getting recognition, but that doesn't mean linemen aren't people, too.

Rashadeem Gray of Whitefish Bay has 1,359 rushing yards, 22 touchdowns and a really cool nickname, “Rah-Rah.”

The five offensive linemen who block for him don’t get the stats, but they have given themselves a nickname — “The Basement Bunch,” according to right guard Bobby Linneman, because they are the foundation for the offense.

LT Will Shanley, senior, No. 74

Best thing about being on the offensive line: Knowing that the points are yours, even though you don’t get your name in the paper.

Your football dream: Ending the season with a win at Camp Randall.

LG Michael Fiedler, junior, No. 79

Best thing about being on the offensive line: “The games are won and lost on the line. The whole outcome of the game essentially comes down to our performance.”

Your football dream: Winning a state championship

Most you’ve ever eaten at one sitting: Probably five or six helpings.

Favorite subject in school: Math or science

Something nobody knows about you: I’m a swimmer.

C Graydon Peterson, senior, No. 51

Best thing about being on the offensive line: “Being out on the field when we score. You get to be part of the celebration.”

Your football dream: Long snap in college (which he will, at Dartmouth).

Most you’ve ever eaten at one sitting: Probably four our five plates of pasta at Will Shanley’s house.

Favorite subject in school: History.

Something nobody knows about you: “I was six and I fell off a chair and bit my tongue, split it in half.”

RG Bobby Linneman, senior, No. 56

Best thing about being on the offensive line: “Every touchdown ‘Rah-Rah’ or anybody else scores, they thank us.”

Your football dream: First it was to beat Homestead senior year, then it was to win state.

Most you’ve ever eaten at one sitting: At an all-you-can-eat dinner in Florida, I ate so much I got sick.

Favorite subject in school: History

Something nobody knows about you: “I broke my face my freshman year of high school in a baseball game.”

RT Quinten Dismukes, senior, No. 77

Best thing about being on the offensive line:  Being with my friends, being physical, creating lanes so the running back can succeed.

Your football dream: To play NCAA Division I football, and win state.

Most you’ve ever eaten at one sitting: “Probably like three plates (at) Thanksgiving.”

Favorite subject in school: Math and history

Something nobody knows about you: “I have a cousin that goes to Brookfield East.”
