Meet Ron Bushbaum, New 8th Grade Math Teacher

Mr. Bushbaum comes to Whitefish Bay after outfitting canoe trips and teaching in northern Minnesota.

The Whitefish Bay School District hired 22 new teachers this year, and Whitefish Bay Patch hopes to introduce all of them to the community before the school year gets underway.

Teaching position/extracurriculars: I'll be teaching 8th grade math at . I also look forward to refereeing some rugby matches in the area.

Hometown/Current community: I grew up in Dumont, IA, lived in northern Minnesota for 17 years and now live in Shorewood, WI.

Education/Experience: Luther College, Decorah, IA. My background is primarily education. I also worked outfitting canoes trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

Do you have any connections to Whitefish Bay? Although I do not have a connection to Whitefish Bay, I do look forward to working in a community and district committed to high student academic achievement with an emphasis on professional development and strong mentorship.Β 

Hobbies: Passions include, but are not limited to: Travel, rugby, fitness, outdoor recreation (canoeing, hiking, XC skiing, snowshoeing, camping, hunting, fishing), construction and handyman projects, spending time with my girlfriend, Kim.

Favorite vacation you've ever taken: Every vacation is a great vacation!Β  Outstanding vacation destination to date was the touring around New Zealand's south island after completing a work contract in Antarctica (also an amazing place, but nothing like New Zealand).Β
