A lifelong Milwaukee resident, Ms. Krueger will begin her teaching career in the same school where she completed her high school student teaching placement.

The Whitefish Bay School District hired 22 new teachers this year, and Whitefish Bay Patch hopes to introduce all of them to the community before the school year gets underway.

You can read their stories here.

Education/Experience: I graduated from UW-Milwaukee majoring in both Biological Sciences and Conservation & Environmental Science in 2006. After college, I worked in the Education Department at Discovery World delivering school-age programming and coordinating the summer camp program. Following Discovery World, I worked as a marine mammal trainer at Oceans of Fun located within the Milwaukee County Zoo. I traveled back and forth to Hershey, PA delivering a sea lion show at Hershey Park for a couple of years before taking a Education Specialist position with the company in Milwaukee. I decided to go back to school to earn my teaching certification through Concordia University and finished the program in June 2012. I am very excited to start my teaching career at Whitefish Bay High School!

Do you have any connections to Whitefish Bay? I completed my high school student teaching placement with at WFB High and had such a positive experience, I really hoped I would have the opportunity to begin my career with this district. I am motivated by the high expectations, student performance and parent involvement that is present in the School District of Whitefish Bay and am looking forward to building relationships with fellow educators, students and parents this school year.

Hobbies: I enjoy reading, attending concerts, and volunteering with local community organizations. Β

Favorite place you've ever visited: During college, I participated in a study abroad program in the Turks and Caicos Islands focused on marine resource management. These islands were beautiful, full of biodiversity and turquoise water. It was such an amazing experience to explore a new place through snorkeling, field work and data collection. I learned many things about tropical ecosystems and Caribbean culture in short period of time. This experience solidified my goals to pursue biology and opened my eyes to a whole new world, very different than what you can find in Milwaukee, WI.
