ABOUT WHITEFISH BAY

The Blue Dukes offense has been in high gear in the last half of the season. They have won 5 of 6 games and averaged more than 43 points in those games. It’s worth noting, however, that the only loss in that stretch was to Homestead, 42-7. The Highlanders lost to Waterford 17-15 in the second week of the season.

Leading the offense is the 1-2 rushing attack of Rashadeem Gray (153-1,327, 16 TDs) and Deyontaye Brown (112-689, 12 TDs), according to stats compiled at WisSports.net. An important weapon to note is sophomore kicker Colin Downing, who has eight successful field goals with a long of 42 yards against Slinger.

ABOUT WATERFORD

The Wolverines have scored at least 40 points seven times, with highs of 66 vs. Delavan-Darien and 61 vs. Union Grove. Most of the damage is done with a balanced running attack led by Greg Steffens (127-993, 16 TDs) and an efficient passing game. Quarterback Zach Fisher averages only about 100 yards per game, but has 15 TDs and just one interception, according to stats compiled at WisSports.net. Watch out for big TE/WR Dustin Schindler, who has 18 catches for 387 yards and five TDs.

Statistically it’s also a strong group defensively, never allowing more than 15 points in a game, and kicker Nick Wirsching has five field goals, including the 36-yard game-winner vs. Homestead.
