Duke Pride Roundup: Pool Renovation Ceremony, Forensics Finalists

Varsity sports at home this week

Girls Basketball: Tuesday at 7:30 vs Tosa West
Boys Swimming: Thursday at 6:00 vs Homestead
Gymnastics: Thursday at 6:30 vs Germantown
Wrestling: Thursday at 6:30 vs Homestead
Boys Basketball: Friday at 7:30 vs Germantown
Boys Hockey: Saturday at 4:00 vs Kettle Moraine


  • The ski race team had a slushy slalom race at Alpine Valley last Wednesday night. Lizzy DeRoche, Sarah Kubly, and Senior Captain Greta Jochem led the girls varsity team to a fourth place finish. The boys varsity ski team also finished in fourth, led by Peter Quaintance, Peter Kubly, and Kolia Frandle. This week the skiers are at Sunburst on Thursday and at Alpine Valley on Sunday.
  • The forensics and debate team has its first national qualifiers of the year. After a tough competition at West Bend High School this past weekend, senior Andrew Gegios and junior Min Heo qualified in Lincoln Douglas Debate to the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament in Philadelphia over Memorial Day Weekend. Junior Jim Broomfield is the 1st Alternate as well.
  • The USM co-op girls’ hockey team defeated Appleton on Friday night with Whitefish Bay freshmen Caitlin McBride scoring one goal and assisting on another.


All of the following take place Thursday night… the boys’ swim team will host Homestead in the final home dual meet of the season starting at 6:00. Before the meet, there will be a brief Pool Renovation Celebration program in the link starting at 5:30. 

After defeating Grafton last Thursday, the wrestling team will also host Homestead with the JV matches starting at 6:30 and the varsity matches starting about 7:15.

After defeating Nicolet last Wednesday, the gymnastics team will host Germantown/Menomonee Falls beginning at 6:30.


The boys’ hockey team will host Kettle Moraine at 4:00 on Saturday at the MSOE Kern Center. The girls’ basketball team will play Tosa West at home on Tuesday night at 7:30


The boys’ home basketball game on Friday versus Germantown will be broadcast live on Time Warner 32.
