Duke Pride Roundup: Orchestra Concert Features British Sounds

Football and cross country teams advance in their respective postseason tournaments.

ORCHESTRA CONCERT: The British are coming, the British are coming! Music from Purcell to The Beatles will be heard Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The Whitefish Bay Orchestra presents their Fall concert featuring famous British works, along with American highlights, Journey's Don't Stop Believin', and senior Sofie Yang performing Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera.
FOOTBALL: Congratulations to the football team on their last Friday in the first round of the WIAA playoffs. The victory moves the team on to Level 2 versus Brookfield East at Brookfield East on Saturday at 4 p.m Tickets are $4 each. There will be no pre-sale of tickets. Plenty of parking is available on-site. The complete Division 2 bracket is courtesy of the WIAA.
CROSS COUNTRY....STATE QUALIFIERS!: Congratulations to both the boys and girls teams on their excellent performance last Saturday at the sectionals which qualifies both squads for the state meet to be held this Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids. The girls team took first and qualified for the 14th consecutive year. Running on Saturday were: Emma-Lisa Murphy (second), Emma Fallone (third), Alana Blegen (ninth), Sara Coffey (10th), Elise Hotz (11th), Sydney Wellenstein (12th) and Madeline Crider (28th). The boys team took second. Running on Saturday were: Nate Gomoll (second), Jordan Lester (seventh), Andrew Searles (12th), Sam Casey (13th), Nick Hotz (22nd), Eddie Pencak (29th) and Alex Hotz (30th). Best of luck at state!
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: The boys’ team will open up WIAA regional play at Brookfield East on Friday at 7 p.m.
GIRLS SWIMMING: The girls swim team will compete at the conference meet this Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cedarburg. The team will look to build upon its Conference Relay championship garnered in September.
