Duke Pride Roundup: Boys Swim Team Defeats Port Washington

This Friday, there will be a basketball doubleheader versus Nicolet with both the girls and boys teams playing at home in the Field House.

Varsity sports at home this week

Girls Basketball: Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. vs Kettle Moraine, Friday at 5:45 p.m. vs Nicolet
Boys Hockey: Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs Stoughton(@MSOE)
Gymnastics: Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. vs Nicolet
Boys Basketball: Friday at 7:30 p.m. vs Nicolet; Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (TIME CHANGE!) vs. Hartford


  • The boys’ swim team defeated Port Washington at home last Thursday. Multiple event winners for the Dukes were Noah Oldson, Ethan Bott, Curt Walther, and Joey McMahon. The team then captured 7th out of 16 teams at the Cedarburg Invite on Saturday.
  • In the first ski race of the season, Giant Slalom at Sunburst last Wednesday, Peter Quaintance led the Boys Varsity to a 3rd place finish, with strong performances from Peter Kubly and Lewis Zwiefelhofer. Girls Varsity finished in 5th led by Sarah Kubly, Allison Brunner, and Lizzy DeRoche.
  • Congratulations to senior soccer players, Jake Taylor and Jack Comiskey, who will be playing in the 4th Annual Community Now Newspapers Soccer All Star Game on Saturday following the 6:00 Wave game.
  • The Blue Duke wrestling team finished 3rd out of 13 teams at the Bauer Brawl over the weekend. Leading the way for the Dukes were Max Carlin and Rashadeem Gray with 2nd place finishes. Coming in third was Cooper Fergus, Jack Ludke, Joey Davey, Ben Lehrmann, George Dixon and Kelly Jackson.


On Friday, January 11 the University School Wildcat Girls’ co-op team, made up of athletes from Whitefish Bay, University School, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Homestead, Nicolet, Saint Thomas More, and Shorewood will be holding its first Spirit Night with a 7 p.m. game at University School versus Appleton. Admission is free for all students. This is an opportunity to support the two Whitefish Bay High school students playing on the team, Caitlyn McBride and Sarah Skinner.


With both teams beating Homestead last Friday, the girls remain in a first place tie with Cedarburg with a 5-1 record. The boys are now 6-1, alone in 2nd place, one game behind Germantown. This Friday, there will be a basketball doubleheader versus Nicolet with the girls’ beginning at 5:45 and the boys following at 7:30. Other home games this week have the girls hosting Kettle Moraine on Tuesday(7:30) and the boys hosting Hartford on Saturday(4:30, TIME CHANGE!).


Following a 3rd place finish at the Mt. Horeb Invitational this past Saturday, the gymnasts will host Nicolet starting at 6:00 on Wednesday in the Memorial Gym. 


The only boys’ hockey game of the week is on Tuesday at 6:00 vs Stoughton at the MSOE Kern Center. The team is currently ranked in the top 10 in the state.
