Dominating 'D' Carries Blue Dukes Girls to 10-0 Record

Whitefish Bay easily defeats Brookfield East 49-24 in non-conference play.

Dominating from beginning to end, the Whitefish Bay girls basketball team improved to 10-0 by beating Brookfield East 49-24 in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

The Blue Dukes, ranked No. 4 in the state in Division 2 in the latest coaches poll, got 11 points in the first quarter from Maya Jonas and led 17-8. That margin stretched to 30-11 at halftime.

Jonas was the only player in the game to score in double figures. Elisabeth Johnston and Abi Harper each scored eight.

Whitefish Bay continues to play top-shelf defense, having held four consecutive opponents to 24 or fewer points.

The Blue Dukes return to conference play Friday against Homestead, in advance of a showdown with unbeaten Nicolet, ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 1.
