Chinese Thespians Perform 'Phantom' With Ease

Despite language boundaries, four Chinese exchange students are able to make huge theatrical contributions to Dominican High School's production of 'Phantom of the Opera'.

Dominican High School's production of "Phantom of the Opera" showcases a unique international flexibility from four boys on the stage.

Those four boys came to Dominican from China through the Wisconsin International Academy. Kevin Zhao (playing "Passarino"), Jaron Ton (Monkey and Ensemble) and Tommy Tang (Guard and Ensemble) arrived in the country about six months ago. Chris He (Guard and Ensemble) came when he started high school.

WUWM's Lake Effect has the full story of how the boys adapted to the transition to the American high school theater production. To learn more about the 13 Chinese exchange students studying at Dominican, see this feature story published on Whitefish Bay Patch in December.
