1,000 DAYS OF MOVING WISCONSIN FORWARD

[Madison, Wis.] – This Saturday marks the 1,000th day of Governor Walker’s term in office, and Wisconsinites can take comfort in knowing that the Badger State continues to move forward under Republican leadership.

“1,000 days in office means 1,000 days of moving Wisconsin forward,” said Brad Courtney, Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Scott Walker has diligently worked to lower taxes on the middle class and bring Wisconsin’s economy back, and we’re seeing the results firsthand.”

Some of Walker’s accomplishments include balancing a $3.6 billion budget deficit without raising taxes, providing nearly a billion dollars in tax relief for Wisconsin’s middle class in the latest budget, and increasing the investment in the classroom and in our workforce.

Wisconsin is moving forward under Governor Walker:

  • The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s latest coincident index had Wisconsin rated 2nd in the nation for three month job growth, the best ranking the Badger State has ever received.
  • The same survey had Wisconsin rated first in the Midwest for job growth.
  • Since Governor Walker has taken office, over 11,590 businesses have been created in the Badger State.
  • More than 70 percent of Wisconsin manufacturers and distributors expect to create jobs or expand in the next 12 months.
  • Now, 94 percent of Wisconsin employers believe the state is headed in the right direction, compared with just 10 percent in 2010.

“What Scott Walker has done in his first 1,000 days in office solidifies that Wisconsin is growing and a model for others to follow,” continued Courtney. “We will continue to move forward under his leadership with further initiatives to cut taxes and spur job growth.”
