$45K Tree Pruning Job Approved by Trustees

Tree workers rotate throughout the village every year so that each tree is pruned once every year.

The Whitefish Bay Village Board expects to spend nearly $45,000 on tree pruning this winter.

Tree pruning rotates throughout the village every year so that each tree is pruned once every seven years.Β The work is performed on the tallest and largest trees within street parkways or public lands. This year's scheduled tree work is mostly on the east side of the village.

This year's tree pruning contract will cost the village $64 per tree. With an estimated 650 trees in need of pruning, the work is expected to cost roughly $42,000, which is lower than the $45,000 budgeted by the board.

Three firms were invited to bid, but only M&M Tree Service submitted a bid. The work is expected to begin in early January and last two to three months, depending on snowfall.
